FOOD WASTE TO PAPER
GRAPHIC DESIGN
PAPER -MAKING
BOOK-BINDING
This project explores the relationship between global warming, food waste, and individual action, focusing on reducing vegetable scraps. By examining various solutions to food waste, the project seeks to identify actionable, personalised strategies that encourage individuals to minimise waste by understanding their living habits.
Inspired by projects repurposing food waste, I devised methods for transforming vegetable scraps into functional paper and using materials like ground coffee and food packaging to create clay. The goal is to raise awareness about food waste and convey the message through tangible, handcrafted materials.
HAND-STITCHED ZINE
A zine was created using homemade recycled paper, featuring traditional Japanese bookbinding techniques. It includes two tutorials: one guiding readers on how to transform vegetable scraps into paper, and the other showing how to make clay from ground coffee and toilet paper rolls.
